LIPHOOK Carers Group (LCG) held an information coffee morning at the Peak Centre.
Supported by the village’s Sainsbury’s supermarket, the Carers Group was able to offer information, advice and support to a number of carers from the parish and surrounding area.
On hand to give advice were The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Rosemary Foundation, Citizens Advice and a legal advisor on matters of Power of Attorney.
LCG aims to signpost carers to support services that can help them in their role as well as providing a listening ear and shared advice from others in a similar situation.
A group spokesman said: "We are very grateful to the organisations who came along to share their expertise with the carers in our village. Hopefully we have helped to show them that they are not alone.”
If you are a carer and feel you would benefit from the support offered by the group, come along on the first Wednesday of each month to the regular Liphook Carers Group meetings held between 10am and noon at the Millennium Centre, Ontario Road or send an email to [email protected]
