HEROES and heroines from favourite stories were the stars in a dress-up day to celebrate Book Week at St Mary’s Primary School in Chiddingfold.
It was the grand finale to a week to celebrate reading that kicked off with a visit by Booster Cushion Theatre Company, which staged a production of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ which the pupils could join in, and featured some hilarious modern twists along the way.
The children returned to school one evening to settle down to enjoy a bedtime story and a hot chocolate while their parents visited the book fair.
The school council ran a competition for pupils to find a winning design for a new book cover for their favourite books.
Yvette Oqvist, school business manager, said: “The final day saw an abundance of colourful book characters descend upon the school as children dressed up as the stars of their favourite stories.”
