Twelve members of Liphook Ramblers swapped the pavements for woodland paths on a scenic six-and-a-half-mile walk from Bentley to Alice Holt Forest and back.

The route took the group through the countryside before returning via the Butterfly Conservation Reserve behind Bentley Station. Despite its name, butterflies proved rather elusive, although one impressive Broad-bordered Bee Hawkmoth more than made up for their absence.

The real star of the show, however, was the bracken. Its stunning autumnal colours provided a spectacular backdrop and proved a memorable sight for many of the walkers.
