SURREY County Council has risked the further wrath of Grayshott villagers this week after confirming controversial road improvements will go ahead as planned, without further public consultation.

As part of the £371m Hindhead tunnel project, highways authorities in Surrey and Hampshire proposed to fund traffic calming on the two access roads from the old A3 into Grayshott to deal with traffic changes when the new tunnel opens in summer 2011.
