A GRAND scheme for a £2m ‘enabling’ development to secure the future of The Georgian Hotel as a key High Street asset is due to be decided by Waverley Borough Council planners at a special meeting next Tuesday.
The application – which was submitted a year ago – was due to be determined by Waverley on January 30, but officers withdrew it 48 hours before the committee was due to meet.
Georgian Hotel owners feared the 11th-hour request for more marketing information to support the plan, even though they had been assured earlier sufficient details had been supplied, could delay determination by a year.
