MILFORD actress Dame Penelope Keith took centre stage at the Surrey County Show in Guildford last Bank Holiday Monday.

In her role as president of Surrey County Agricultural Society, which organises the hugely popular annual blockbuster in Stoke Park, she presented the awards to the champion livestock competing for the top prizes.

Cloudy weather forced the Army Red Devils had to cancel their display, but showgoers enjoyed the packed programme on offer in the grand arena, the countryside arena and Surrey Food Theatre.

There was also a fun dog show, sheepdog trials, fly fishing, falconry, Miller’s Ark

Petting Farm, a fun fair, along with many varied stalls.
