HASLEMERE police chiefs have admitted that response times to 999 calls in the town have been poor in the past.
Chief Inspector Clive Davies told the town council: "We are aware response times were not good enough in Haslemere, and you deserved better."
He spoke when presenting a formal report into police emergency call-out response times following criticisms voiced in The Herald and in the council chamber last year.
