IT was all hands on deck on Saturday at a charity car wash at Haslemere fire station.

The town's retained crew spent the day hosing down cars to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

"We raised £275 from donations," said retained watch manager Mark Busby.

"We are very grateful to everyone who contrbuted and it is going to a good cause. The proceeds will help injured firefighters and families affected by the firefighter deaths.

"We put 100 per cent into the event and the kids sitting in the backs did like it when we sprayed their cars with water."

Meanwhile, Haslemere firefighters were called out to assist the RSPCA when a cat got stuck 25 feet up in a tree in Grayswood on Monday afternoon and were able to reunite it with its owner.
