HASLEMERE Food Festival returns tomorrow, as the culinary celebration of food and drink from Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire celebrates its 11th year.

The event returns to Lion Green where last year more than 1,000 visitors attend for the mix of food and drink stall holders, live entertainment and activities for children, demonstrations and tastings.

There will be top quality offerings including bakery delights, cheeses, olives, chutneys and preserves, pies, sauces, meats, street food and wood-fired burgers, along with English wines, locally brewed beers, smoothies and shakes.

For those with a sweet tooth, offerings include cakes and patisseries, handmade chocolates, fudge, waffles and award-winning ice creams. There is also have an interactive children’s zone where there will be a host of different food themed arts and crafts.

Entry is free from 10am-4pm with ample parking around Lion Green available.

This year also sees the return of the popular Supreme Sausage Competition at The Aga Shop, on West Street.

Three town butchers will be competing to produce the tastiest banger and the public will be able to taste the different varieties between noon and 3pm at the Aga shop.

The winner will be announced based on votes from the tasting at noon, on the following Saturday by Sarah Whitaker, AGA cooking demonstrator and cookery book author.

The shop, in association with Sarah, has produced a Haslemere Sausage Casserole recipe, plus classic Haslemere Chocolate cake recipe leaflets which will be available during the day.
