THOUSANDS enjoyed enjoyed generous helpings of sunshine and entertainment on Saturday at Haslemere Food Festival 2019.
Visit Haslemere manager Heather Matthews said: “It was so lovely to see a record number of people visiting the festival, both local and from further afield, who clearly had a great time tucking into the delicious foods and drink on offer.
“A special thanks goes to The Natural Cook Company, which kept our younger foodies happy, with a chance to get their hands dirty during three fabulous cookery workshops running throughout the day.
“Molly Moocow was also on hand to keep us singing and dancing and Haslemere Museum entertained with its interactive craft making stall.
“With the sun high in the sky throughout the day, visitors were able to make the most of the relaxing music, enjoying food and drink in the beautiful setting of Lion Green.
“Festival goers were also treated to a fresh line-up of demonstrations taking place at regular intervals and for the first time this year, a gin zone.
“The annual sausage competition proved particularly popular. “Visitors were able to taste and vote for their favourite traditional and speciality recipe and we are pleased to announce a clean sweep for Beacon Hill Butchers, which took first place in both categories.
“The food festival team would like to thank all the volunteers, producers, musicians and visitors who helped to make this year’s event so enjoyable.”
