A FUN day at Chiddingfold Golf Club has raised £1,060 for Macmillan Cancer Care. Handing over the cheque was golfer Terry Gulliver who is a member of the club and organised the special fund raising event.

Around 50 golfers turned out for the day which included a raffle and an auction, held at the club in Petworth Road, Chiddingfold.

Stephen Taylor who helps manage the club on the Petworth Road, hopes it will be the first of what is planned to become an annual event,

He told The Herald: “It was a successful event and anyone interested in taking part is welcome to get in touch, the more the merrier to raise money and awareness for Macmillan.”

The club was also happy to lend its support to other golfers wanting to raise funds for good causes, he added.
