THE ROYAL Society of St George’s Haslemere branch has organised a window dressing competition for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The society has organised the competition on behalf of Haslemere Festival.

The competition has four classes: High Street area – best retail shop, High Street area – best non-retail window, Weyhill area – best retail shop and Weyhill area – best non-retail window. There will be a prize for each class winner, and a cup will be awarded to the overall winner – the Best in Town.

Haslemere Festival chairman Hamish Donaldson said: “I’m pleased to be working again with the Royal Society of St George’s Haslemere branch for the window dressing competition for Haslemere.

“Something like 150 shops and offices fronting onto the High Street in West Street at one end of the town and through to Weyhill at the other have all been asked to join in the Haslemere celebrations to add colour to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.”

Royal Society of St George’s Haslemere branch chairman Nick Hinchliffe said: “We are pleased to be taking part in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee event, adding on to what we did in the town ten years ago.”

Entry to the competition is free, and entry forms must be sent in by next Monday (May 23). To get an entry form, email martin [email protected]
