‘In one of your recent articles,” writes Mark Westcott, “you asked about the vehicle in front of an old photograph of Barnett and Small (?).

“I think it was a Lea Francis conversion, as they had a very distinctive front suspension as illustrated here.”

Apparently the version in Mark’s photograph is a 1928 model and I recall some years ago being contacted by Peter Ellington-Robinson of Bristol who had purchased a 1928 12/22 Model V and was trying to trace its history.

It had been supplied new in July 1928 by F W Kerridge of Alton and Peter was trying to find any photographs taken of it while locally owned. Its registration was OT9295.

Thanks to readers, we learned it had been owned by Ellis Jervoise of Newton Valence Place and found out quite a bit about his experiences with the car, but unfortunately no photographs of it on local roads.

Unfortunately, the number plate isn’t readable in Mark’s photograph. I wonder if it could possibly be the same car?
