AS part of the annual canvass which takes place every autumn, household enquiry forms have been dropping through letterboxes across Waverley over the past few weeks.
The forms contain the voter details Waverley Borough Council has on record for each household. If the details have changed, for example if someone has moved house, the forms will need to be returned with the amendments as soon as possible.
Even if your details haven’t changed you still need to return the form, or use the telephone or online system, to let Waverley know and ensure you can vote in future elections.
Robin Pellow, monitoring and returning officer, said: “The forms are simple to fill out. All you have to do is update the form with the details of everyone in your household who is eligible to vote and return it to us as soon as possible.
“Some people may not realise that they have to register each year but it is a legal requirement and means you’re able to take part in any upcoming elections.”
There are a number of ways to amend the forms. You can go online and make changes by visiting www.registerbyinternet.com/waverley, using the security code provided, or by completing and returning the form by freepost.
If there are no changes to make then you can respond by phoning the automated free phone number 0800 197 9871 or by returning the form.
If you do not return the form before the beginning of September you will receive a reminder.
