Players ranging in age from 10 to 18 entered a maximum of four events, competing in singles and doubles as well as the ever popular mixed doubles.
The sun shone gloriously for most of the week, so that all events were completed by Saturday morning.
Almost 200 matches, 400 sets and over 3,000 games were played. With many keenly contested matches, prizes went to players from a wide range of local clubs.
Tournament organisers Tony and Beryl Bishop said. “Once again, it was a successful week again and all the hard work by us and our team of volunteers was well rewarded by the fun and enjoyment it gave players.”
The annual event, sanctioned by the Lawn Tennis Association, was sponsored once again by Sports Locker.
Tony added: “Our thanks go to Peter Jones and his team at Sports Locker for their support and encouragement,”
The week-long August tournament was open to club and non-club members. This year the majority of players were non-members from outside of Haslemere.
