A RECORD sum was raised by Shottermill Junior School for the NSPCC as part of its Speak out, Stay safe campaign.

Children were taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or Childline.

Headteacher Kate Barnes said: “We have smashed all our previous records.

“The children designed their own obstacle courses and were sponsored to complete the course in PE lessons, which also included questions on how to keep safe from different forms of abuse.

“We would like to thank NSPCC Surrey schools organiser Mandy Elton for bringing us her information assemblies and workshops.”
