FOUR young litter blitzers became town heroes when they resolved to clean up Lion Green.
When Freddie Constable’s mum Lucy posted pictures of her seven year-old son collecting rubbish off his own bat on Haslemere community board, she clearly struck a chord.
More than 400 ‘likes’ and a flood of grateful comments were triggered by Lucy’s photos of Freddie and three friends, who quickly got stuck in to help as soon as they saw what he was doing.
“Freddie came back from Lion Green with a piece of rubbish to throw away and said there was loads more there and he wanted to clear it up,” said mum Lucy.
“His friend Rowan, who is six, helped and so did Tom and Oscar, who are both ten.
“I had to go to Marks & Spencer to ask for more bin bags, I didn’t expect there to be so much.”
