SURREY Police are investigating two reports of a young man intimidating women walking alone and touching them inappropriately in Haslemere.

A young woman in her late teens was walking down Weycombe Road just before 6pm, on September 16, when she became aware she was being followed by a man.

She thought he was going to steal her handbag but as she crossed over the railway bridge in Tanners Lane, he ran towards her, touched her inappropriately and ran off.

Shortly afterwards, between 6pm and 6.15pm, a woman in her 20s was walking home from Haslemere Station, when she became aware of a man who had crossed the road in the same direction as her. As she started walking along Tanners Lane, he touched her inappropriately before running off back towards the train station.
