FERNHURST Tennis Club has started the new season with five teams going into the East Hants Tennis Summer League.

Members will be facingt Haslemere, Liphook, Midhurst, Buriton, Petworth, Graffham, and a dozen other clubs throughout the summer.

The five Fernhurst teams are the mixed doubles over 50s (the vets) who have gone up a division having won last year; two ladies teams, a men’s and a mixed side.

Over the winter the club’s ladies team convincingly won their division and have been promoted for next winter, and a vets’ team who did well but did not win.

Fernhurst is a comparatively new but thriving club with three courts on the recreation ground.

There are weekly roll-ups on Saturday and Monday mornings, regular coaching for all ages, in house friendly tournaments and more competitive trophy tournaments.
