A NEW pedestrian crossing on Petworth Road looks set to get the go-ahead, but it will mean the loss of two free parking spaces.
Surrey County Council has formally advertised plans for a zebra crossing around the corner from the High Street, where there is a bus stop at present.
However it would mean moving the bus stop further east, to the lay-by where cars can currently park for up to one hour. The scheme will cost about £60,000.
