The Phoenix Players are looking forward to making January jovial by staging their pantomime Aladdin at The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Bordon.

They will bring colour to the drabbest month of the year from January 19 to 28, with evening performances at 7.30pm each day and matinees on January 21 and 28 at 2.30pm.

A Phoenix spokesperson said: “The wastrel boy of Old Peking has but one dream: to become rich enough to marry the enchanting Princess Mandarin.

“Meanwhile, the evil Abanazer longs to find the mysterious magic lamp to become the most powerful being in the land, but he has just one obstacle: only Aladdin can retrieve the lamp from the cave of treasures.

“With the help of his bumbling family, the Spirit of the Ring and a charismatic genie, Aladdin embarks on his adventure to find the lamp, rescue the princess and save the day.

“Get ready to cheer the hero, boo the baddie, clap your hands and sing along, alongside a brilliant cast and some great panto tunes.”
