WAVERLEY Borough Council’s draft Local Plan on where to build some some homs by 2032 goes out to public consultation on Friday.
The document setting out the key policies and an overall strategy for managing and directing future development in Waverley, identifies strategic sites for housing, employment and mixed use development.
The plan includes a number of strategic policies covering a range of uses including leisure, culture, the rural environment, transport, affordable housing, infrastructure and community services.
The public consultation will continue for six weeks, until Monday, October 3. The plan can be viewed and downloaded on Waverley’s website from August 19.
Hard copies will also be available at the council offices in Godalming, all public libraries in the borough and at the Farnham Locality Office.
Interested parties will be able to send their representations to the council by either:
• Logging onto: www.consult.waverley.gov.uk
• Emailing [email protected]
• Writing to: Planning Policy, Waverley Borough Council, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1 HR.
The council will review the responses received and the plan is due to be submitted for examination by an independent planning inspector in November.
In July, Planning Minister Brandon Lewis warned councils they have until the start of 2017 to produce local plans or face central government stepping in and doing it for them.
