HIGH-profile action was taken on Monday to try to reverse cutbacks affecting police and health services across the county.

On the same day, Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Kevin Hurley called for a 24 per cent increase in the force's precept, and NHS staff at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in Guildford, staged a protest against Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt's decision not to implement a one per cent pay rise.
