Six offences have been reported to have occurred between July 24 and August 20.
The victims, who are aged between 74 and 94, have been purposely targeted by two men. Typical excuses used include stating that their car has broken down or they have lost their pet in the hope of gaining access to properties.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary and has been bailed until September 20 while the investigation continues.
Items reported to have been stolen include a French mantelpiece clock with two dials dating from the 1800s, a Frobisher wall clock dating from around 1850, a wedding band inscribed with a man and woman’s name and a date in 1970, a gold ring with an amethyst stone surrounded by diamonds, and ruby and diamond rings.
Other items taken are two silver picture frames, a whippet dog silver ornament with a porcelain face, an old-fashioned ’shell’ petrol can with brass knob, and a brown faux leather POLO bag containing a small leather wallet and other personal belongings.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "We are currently carrying out a number of lines of enquiries to find those responsible and we are urging anyone who has information about the offences or could potentially help us locate the stolen property to contact us immediately.
"Alternatively, if you have found, were offered or know someone who has been offered the above items, please do the right thing and contact Surrey Police on 101 and ask for Detective Constable Jo Smith or quote crime reference number 45160072371."
