THIS year's Haslemere Poppy Appeal has been launched and organisers are aiming to collect at least £20,000 from around the town and in Grayswood.
There was a record collection of £16,625 in the area last year ?– an increase of 60 per cent on 2010.
Over five years, £65,000 has been raised by generous public donations.
Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal organiser Michael Barnes said: "This year we are aiming to raise in excess of £20,000. We ask everyone to give even more generously to this worthy cause."
