GRAYSHOTT resident Tim Wickes and his 10-strong team have raised a landmark £10,000 for the Prostate Project in just four years.

The money was collected in the charity boxes they placed in pubs, shops, garages, surgeries and offices in the Grayshott, Haslemere, Liphook, Petersfield, Liss, Headley and Bordon areas.

Mr Wickes said: “The £10,000 achievement is all down to a combination of the the dedication of our team, the willingness of the people who allow the boxes on their premises and the generosity of the public. There is one common thread and that is the belief in the work of the Prostate Project charity.

“Convincing people to take our boxes is so much easier when they learn what a great job the Prostate Project has done towards defeating this killer cancer over the last 18 years.

“With so many high profile charities spending 20 per cent and more of their donated income on administration costs, it is refreshing to hear of a successful one that is still volunteer led with admin costs below four per cent.”

They money raised is helping to fund vital research in Guildford into prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.

More team members are needed to help expand coverage to Farnham, Aldershot, Camberley, Midhurst, Petworth, Guildford and Godalming. Anyone who would like to join Tim’s Team can email tim @twickes.co.uk
