GLADYS Bendall, whose husband and father both fought in World War Two, was one of the residents at RMBI Shannon Court in Hindhead who joined Camelsdale Primary School pupils for a special Remembrance Day tribute, last Friday.

Tributes paid as Bishop of Guildford Andrew Watson dies from pancreatic cancerMrs Bendall said: “Remembrance Sunday is an important event, remembering the veterans who gave their lives and those who were so badly injured – and how very brave they all were.”
Residents and children painted poppy designs on pebbles that will be placed in a Remembrance area in Shannon Court garden.
Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “It was a very meaningful visit for our children and we are very grateful to the residents of Shannon Court for sharing their experiences with us.”
