IT was purple all the way at Grayshott In Home Care on International Epilepsy Awareness Day.
The colour purple is used to represent epilepsy because of its association with lavender. The herb’s essential oils were traditionally used to treat seizures.
Staff sported purple on the day and raised funds for the Epilepsy Society by selling cakes and running a competition to guess how many sweets were in a jar.
Deputy manager Jodie Marshall said: “Our cake sale was a huge success.
“We asked companies to donate cakes and Hindhead cookie bar, Grayshott Co-op, Grayshott Sainsbury’s, Liphook Sainsbury’s and Red Rose Tea Rooms were amazing in supporting us.
“Our administrator ‘Lady’ Caroline Barnes went out into the village to sell them. Thanks to our supporters, we raised £151.”
