RAMSTER Garden, a hidden gem near Chiddingfold, will open every day for seven days between 11am-4pm over the next week.

Visitors will be treated to autumn sights including the acers which are renowned for their seasonal display of fiery shades of reds and russets from Saturday, October 15, until Sunday, October 23.

Famed for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, Ramster Garden - a much celebrated spring garden - is now on the map of one of the best places to see autumn colour.

Creating a burst of colour are the unique 100-year-old avenue of maples, woodland areas with oak and larch, and American red gum tree Liquidambar which has long-lasting autumn shades of orange, crimson and purple.

Rosie Glaister, who runs the 20-acre garden along with other members of her family which span three generations, is passionate about sharing the autumn sights with a loyal audience.

She said: “Our garden which has been in the family for over 90 years is renowned for its glorious spring horticultural delights but it is also fabulous in October.

“The maples are magical and a very important reminder of the Japanese influence throughout the garden which was originally created in 1890 by Gauntletts of Chiddingfold, also known as the Japanese Nursery.”

During opening times, the tea house will be serving a selection of cakes, sandwiches, snacks and drinks.

Entry fees (cash only) are adults £7, group rate (10 or more people) £6.50, children under 16 free, registered disabled £3, seasonal ticket holders free. Dogs on short leads are welcome. Visit www.ramsterevents.com.
