A PILLAR of Moorhouse Nursing Home in Hindhead is stepping down after 30 years of dedicated service.

Sue Long started out as a carer, but her talents swiftly made her an invaluable member of the activity team, where she has long been activities co-ordinator.

Managing director of parent company Ashberry Healthcare, Nigel Denny, made a special presentation at the farewell party, which was attended by staff past and present, plus residents and relatives. Special gifts included a watercolour set.

Manager Vicki Lapham said: “We all wish Sue well in her very well deserved retirement. She will be sadly missed.”
