THE owner of a hair and beauty salon is urging businesses to step up their security after burglars smashed their way into her shop taking thousands of pounds worth of stock.

Thieves broke into Eden Hair and Beauty in Junction Place, Weyhill, between 10.15pm on Thursday night last week and 6.50am on April 13.

They left a trial of destruction after smashing a side window and forcing the front door before making off with a large quantity of hair and beauty products.

Eden Hair and Beauty director Angie Townsend estimates the loss and damage at £15,000.
