THE successful introduction of a shuttle bus service at this year’s Wings and Wheels has triggered a charity donation.
For the first time, visitors to the air show had the option of getting to Dunsfold Park from Guildford station and back, using a Compass Travel bus laid on four times a day.
All the revenue from the service was donated to Help for Heroes by Compass.
Compass Travel managing director Chris Chatfield said: “We are very pleased the shuttle service to Wings and Wheels proved so popular with the public. Its success has enabled us to donate £665 to Help for Heroes and we look forward to building on that in 2016.”
Help for Heroes regional manager James Burns said: “Our vision is very simple. We believe any serviceman or woman, who suffers life-changing injuries or illness in the line of duty, deserves the very best support.
“It is thanks to the generous public and support from events like Wings and Wheels that we have been able to achieve so much in a short time, but the soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support in the future. They are still battling and we won’t let them battle alone.”
