LONG-serving Chiddingfold and Dunsfold borough councillor Simon Inchbald was has been voted in as the new Mayor of Waverley.

First elected in 2007, Mr Inchbald (pictured) has been a key member of the council’s licensing committee, serving as both deputy chairman and chairman.

His wife Rosie will be mayoress and he is supporting the Meath Epilepsy charity during his year in office.

He said: “This role is about service to the community and I look forward to serving the whole of the community, from small children to the elderly.

“The Meath does amazing work, encouraging and nurturing people living with complex epilepsy.

“Through its projects, such as a furniture restoration workshop and the art house, residents grow their talents and skills. Recently, residents had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a production at the electric theatre and with the Godalming Jazz choir.”
