Haslemere Players will bring comedy musical Little Shop Of Horrors to the Haslemere Hall stage from June 6 to 9.

This multi-award winning Broadway and West End sci-fi musical is based on a book by Howard Ashman, with songs composed by Alan Menken in the style of early 1960s rock ’n’ roll and Motown.

The story features Seymour, a meek and downtrodden florist’s shop assistant on Skid Row in New York, who is oppressed by his employer, Mushnik.

Seymour secretly admires his colleague, Audrey, who, like him, has few feelings of self-worth. The shop is failing and about to close, but Seymour accidentally cultivates a weird and strange alien plant – dubbed Audrey II – which brings a rapid upturn in fortunes.

But this R&B singing carnivore grows to enormous proportions as it sets out to take over the world!
