A TRAINEE police officer whose dream of a career in the force was shattered six-and-a-half years ago by a car crash has been awarded £2m damages.

Nicholas Fletcher was aged 26 at the time and was a probationary constable on March 27, 2003, when the officer driving the unmarked car he was travelling in lost control on a bend on the A287 at Millbridge.
