A CHARITY fun day proved popular with families, with Lion Green’s Apple Tree pub the centre of the entertainment.

There was music, a bouncy castle and a bungee run, as well as face painting and hairdressing for children provided by Little Locks and magic tricks from teenage duo Unknown Reality, plus a Star Wars Stormtrooper to boot.

Sunday’s event was held to raise funds for the mayor’s nominated charities Positive Action, Action Medical Research for Children, The Kaleidoscope Trust, and The Haslemere Penny Ha’PennyTrust.

Funds were boosted by an auction featuring a designer handbag donated by Aspinals, and around £700 was raised.

The amount raised will add to the total being raised this year for the charities being supported by Haslemere mayor Sahran Abeysundara, with other events planned for the year including a flower show in November and an outdoor arts installation before Christmas.
