MUCH-LOVED Haslemere Museum mascot Arthur, the stuffed Siberian brown bear, was on hand to pose for photos with young visitors and their teddies at the popular annual picnic.
Guests brought their teddies and were challenged to enter them for the Best Victorian Dressed Bear competition.
Families enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with a picnic tea and mini fete in the museum gardens.
Also on offer, were traditional party games, face painting, and stalls.
The museum’s Teddy Bears Picnic, was one of the highlights of an action-packed programme of holiday activities for all the family.
Running throughout August, was a ‘Beautiful Butterflies and Magnificent Minibeasts’ exhibition, featuring cut out models, dressing up, puzzles, and a garden trail.
Tie-in family drop in events included a Bugs and Butterflies sessions, a Wonderful Wire Wood Insects workshop and a Build a Minibeast Lego Challenge.
The museum’s young Explorer club members enjoyed workshops on themes ranging from ‘Investigating Insects’ to ‘Clay Creations’ and even a session on how to make their own breakfast cereal.
•Starting today (Saturday), and continuing until September 29, is ‘Frank Brangwyn: The Graphic Art of the First World War’, a touring exhibition featuring a selection of wartime poster designs by the renowned official war artist.
