SOCIAL media tributes have been paid in loving memory of Zac Combe, 21, who died in the early hours of Saturday morning following a collision on the A3 southbound carriageway near Thursley.

Surrey Police were called just after 4am on June 3, following a report of a van hitting a pedestrian near to the Thursley junction.

Officers attended, with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and Surrey Fire and Rescue ervice, but the man was sadly declared dead at the scene.

His next of kin and the coroner were informed.

The driver of the van was helping police with their enquiries.

A fire service co-responder vehicle and the air ambulance team, travelling in a road vehicle, attended the scene.

A SECAmb spokesman said: “Sadly despite the best efforts of all those at the scene the man died at the scene.”

Diversions were in place from the A3 in both directions between the Hindhead Tunnel and Milford

The road did not fully reopen until after 11am.
