EASEBOURNE war hero Reginald Haine will be among those remembered at a concert this autumn to commemorate local people who died fighting in the first world war.
Lieutenant Colonel Haine – known as Bill – who was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery and Midhurst Music Society has joined forces with the Royal British Legion to present Music for Remembrance in St Mary's Church, Easebourne on November 22.
Members of the music society have tracked down Col Haine's relatives who will join in the remembrance evening.
Anthony Knight said: "We plan to include the reading of a First World War poem and we hope the reader will be one of his young relatives."
