THUNDERSTORMS, torrential rain and possibly even hail are expected to hit Surrey and Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a ’yellow’ weather warning valid from 1pm to 9pm, with heavy, thundery showers forecast to bring as much as 50mm of rain in just a few hours.

While most places will miss the worst of the bad weather, the public are urged to "be aware" of the danger of localised flooding.
