STUDENTS of the Hilary Marston School of Ballet and the Milford and Brook School of Dance performed a full-length children’s production of the ballet Giselle with dancers aged six to 18.
Choreographed over a ten-week rehearsal period by teacher Becky Bradbury, the production was not without its setbacks.
Dancers who had rehearsed separately saw the show come together, programme portraits were photographed and a dress rehearsal was held before the performance.
Despite the upheaval every parent and dancer arrived and the stage was set, and the show was a spectacular success.
As part of the production, money was donated to local children’s charities.
Representatives from Home-Start Waverley – which supports young families in crisis – and the Wellbeing Garden at Lucks Yard – which supports teenagers – went to the performance. More than £1,000 was raised and divided between the charities.
