HASLEMERE Festival of Sport featured 18 different sports and attracted some 700 people last year when the theme of ‘Pick up and Play’ was adopted with great enthusiasm.
The organisers are planning even more sports and activities for all ages to try at Woolmer Hill Sports Centre on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28.
These will include athletics, equestrian, cricket, badminton, football, stoolball, bowling, hockey, dance, sub-aqua, table tennis, golf and sailing. Polo, martial arts, cycling, gymnastics, netball, rambling and pilates will hopefully also be on the programme, with coaches from local clubs on hand to instruct.
It’s a perfect opportunity to try a new sport and take it further by joining a club.
