A late double from substitute Elliot Harrison couldn’t prevent Liss Athletic from falling to a 4-3 defeat against Moneyfields Reserves in the Hampshire Premier Football League Senior Division.

Moneyfields swept into a two-goal lead inside the opening 20 minutes – the first came from a close-range header from a corner and the second came from a set-piece that Liss failed to clear.

Harry Stanbridge pulled one back, but Moneyfields made it 3-1 right on the cusp of half-time.

Moneyfields made it 4-1 early in the second half before Liss started to rally – Harrison netted his ninth and tenth goals of the campaign.

Seamus Evans almost snatched a point but saw his shot go wide.

Liss will entertain Hayling United at the Newman Collard Playing Fields at 3pm today (Saturday).
