AS the clock starts ticking towards Christmas, shopping for Christmas cards couldn’t be easier with Cards for Good Causes back for its festive season at Haslemere Museum.
Officially opened by the deputy mayor of Haslemere, David Round praised the huge contribution made by the shop’s volunteers, which enables Cards for Good Causes to give a very high return to the charities, bringing them much needed revenue.
Over the last 10 years more than £250,000 of goods have been sold by Haslemere Cards for Good Causes at the museum.
Cards are on sale on behalf of more than 30 national and local charities, among them Alzheimer’s Society, British Heart Foundation, Canine Partners, Christian Aid, Guts, Help for Heroes, Macmillan, Make a Wish Foundation, Mencap, MNDA, NSPCC, Parkinsons, Phyllis Tuckwell, RNLI, Shooting Star, Chase and The Fountain Centre. With an exclusive Haslemere Christmas card also on sale this year, Maggie Monteath, the shop manager is hoping for bumper sales of cards as well as the shop’s wide range of traditional advent calendars, wrapping paper, tags, stocking fillers and other gifts.
