POLICE have released an e-fit of a man wanted following the attempted robbery of a 77-year-old woman in Grayshott.
The man, who is thought to have had an Eastern European accent, tried to grab a necklace from around the woman’s neck as she was outside shops in Headley Road at about 1.30pm on Friday, October 14.
The necklace did not come off and the woman told the man to leave her alone. He walked off with a friend.
The robber was described as white, in his early 30s, 5ft 10inches tall and well built.
His hair was “grubby and jet black”.
He had dark eyes, an oval face and light stubble.
He was wearing “scruffy builder-type clothes” and a black hoodie with a zip.
The woman was left with pain in her neck.
Police said the attempted robbery had happened in a busy street and an incident of that nature was unusual in Grayshott.
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who thinks they recognise the man.
• Call police staff investigator Karen Slade at Aldershot police station on 101.
