A DISABLED woman was subjected to a torrent of hate-filled abuse in Tesco car park, Haslemere, last week.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after the alleged hate crime at around 10.30am on Tuesday, October 5.

The victim left the supermarket and as she walked past a blue BMW, the car’s horn was repeatedly beeped.

A woman inside the vehicle became verbally abusive, using gestures and hate related language linked to the victim’s disability.

Police believe there were a total of four woman inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

A police spokesman said: "We would like to speak to anyone who might have witnessed this, including a man who we have identified as walking near to the vehicle when the incident happened.

"The man is described as white, around the age of 60, and approximately 5’8” in height. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark grey jumper and had glasses."
