POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A287 Frensham Road, between a Mazda and a Land Rover, shortly before 6pm on Sunday (March 25).

A woman in her 70’s, who was driving the Mazda, was declared dead at the scene. Her next of kin are being informed. The driver of the Land Rover was taken to hospital.

The road was closed between the junctions of the A287 with Fifield Lane and Kennel Lane while the emergency services (Surrey Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service) carried out their work.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the immediate area between 5.45pm and 6pm, and may have seen or heard the collision, or the vehicles in the moments before the collision.

“We are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage from the incident to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference PR/P18068735.
