ALICE Holt Forest has reopened its car park and cafe to visitors – but children’s play equipment and play areas remain off limits.

“In line with new government advice, we’ve opened our car park,” said a statement on the Forestry Commission website.

“If you decide to travel to Alice Holt Forest by car, please park legally and responsibly.

“Keep highways and gateways clear and leave plenty of room between your car and others for other visitors to pass safely.

“Due to government guidance on play areas, at this time we cannot reopen our play equipment and play areas.

“Please also note we have limited facilities at the moment, with the cafe offering only takeaway food and drink.

“We hope you will enjoy the space and fresh air with a safe, relaxing visit.”

Barbecues are also banned in the forest, and visitors have been asked to be prepared to return home if the site looks closed or busy.
