SUNDAY flights to Dunsfold Aerodrome have been allowed on appeal to meet peak demand during the Olympics.
In Monday's speedy verdict following the appeal hearing on May 29, the planning inspector overturned all the restrictive conditions attached by Waverley Borough Council when it granted consent for 1,560 extra flights during the Olympics, which Dunsfold Park objected had made the permission "unworkable".
Dunsfold Aerodrome will now be open for business from 7am-9pm daily from July 21 to August 15.
A spokesman for the airfield told The Herald: "We are delighted that the inspector recognised the important contribution to business aviation small airports like Dunsfold Aerodrome can offer and is enabling us to make the best use of our existing airport facilities in time for the Games."
