WINNER of the Petersfield Art & Crafts Society Exhibition 2022’s coveted Visitors’ Choice Award has been announced after more than 530 people cast their vote during August’s six-day showcase.

The society’s popular summer exhibition was held again at the Festival Hall after a two-year Covid-enforced break, from August 24 to 29.

Visitors were encouraged to vote in the Visitors’ Choice Award and the clear winner was renowned local artist Sharon Hurst with her painting Green Eyes, a stunning watercolour of a mesmerising cat (pictured right).

A total of 550 items were on display with hundreds sold to be enjoyed by supporters from near and far.

The Phoenix Junior Stitches mounted a display of the work they had produced as a result of the Young Persons’ Bursary, awarded by Petersfield Art & Crafts Society (PACS) last year.

This is an annual bursary offered by PACS to help promote arts in the local community among young people. For details see petersfieldartsandcrafts.org.uk

PACS Committee member Eileen Riddiford said: “We had fabulous attendance at the exhibition with hundreds of people locally and from further afield enjoying free entry to a varied and exciting exhibition featuring paintings, photography, ceramics, jewellery, wood, textiles and so much more besides.”
